Weekly Update
for the Week Ending
Friday, December 14
Dear
Room 15 Families,
I can’t
wait to start digging into those grandparent interviews. We will be doing that this week. Thanks again for your help with those. If we have any questions (clarification or
follow-ups), we will be reaching out to you.
In lieu of Read and Relax this Friday,
students will be sharing their published small moment stories on Friday
morning. We hope you can join us. These stories were self
chosen by the writer to take through the publishing process. As our first published piece, we focused on
beginnings, endings and end punctuation.
During Weekend News lessons, we have moved forward to adding details and
including a So what? or message.
Also on Friday, we will have our Winter
Wonderland Café. This is our version as our
get-ready-for-break celebration.
Students will complete an order ticket using a menu of food/drink
options. They will add the cost of the
items to find a total and then use the ticket and (fake) money to purchase the
items and wait for change. The food
items will be a combination of sweet and savory items, but won’t all be
healthy. I create the menu with the
intention avoiding kids over-buying the junk food. I just wanted to let you know that there will
be something sweet offered on Friday.
Let me know if you have a concern/restrictions about this.
