Weekly Update for the Week Ending
Friday, June 8
COMPLETELY in denial
You may have noticed that my mentions of the
impending end of year have been minimal.
I think that’s because I’m mostly sad about the end of this year. Having been around for some time, I know a
special class when I feel it. And that
is what your kids created this year.
They brought their humor, their fears, their energy, their challenges, their
excitement, their hearts and their discomforts to room 15 and shared them all
generously. Together, we each got a
little better at being FOCUSED AND RELAXED (I’m still trying) and we worked
together. They spent this year reaching out to and lifting up each other. Your kids were compassionate and flexible
with me and with each other. This year
was one of those years that made me realize just how lucky I am to be a teacher. It really can be the very best job in the
world. I am honored to call every one of
your kids my friend and learning partner.
Wednesday is Woody’s Ice Cream Day
Second graders will enjoy Woody’s ice cream at 1:35
and will walk back to our class for dismissal at 1:55.
Friday Dismissal at 12:40
On the last day of school, dismissal will be at
12:40. Lunch is at the normal time.
Envelope of Important Stuff
Please be on the lookout for a large “Envelope of
Important Stuff” coming home with your child on Friday. In the envelope, you will find your child’s
progress report along with a note from me to your child. I just wanted to give you a heads up, given
the important contents.
Room 15 has a blog! Please visit https://focusedandrelaxed.blogspot.com/
to check out our Daily Briefings. In
addition, you will find a collection of the Weekly Updates.
