Weekly Update
for the Week Ending
Friday, May 24
Dear
Room 15 Families,
During this very busy final few weeks
of school, I start feeling like I’m just throwing information at you. I apologize for that. But please do make time to read through
communication carefully and thoroughly, as I would really not want you to miss
anything.
•On Tuesday, students
are invited to come to school in PJs.
This is their chosen way of celebrating reaching our On Our Way
goal. Students can also bring along a
stuffy. We will enjoy a morning sweet
treat, too.
•This Wednesday (and on the last day of school), students are dismissed
at 12:40. Please do make arrangements
for this change in schedule.
•On Friday, we are celebrating Ms. Harvey’s retirement. On
Friday, May 31st at 9am we will be having a special all school assembly
to honor Mrs. Harvey, our wonderful PE teacher who is retiring this year. As a
special surprise for her at the assembly, each grade level will be singing a
song. This is a secret so shhhh! All families are invited to attend. We hope to
see you there! There will be no Read and Relax this week.
•For homework this week, students are
encouraged to spend time refining their Google Slides about their rainforest
animal. Please feel free to work
together on your child’s paragraphs.
They are learning how to work with the design tools within Google
Drive.
•We are
continuing our math routine focused around MATH
FACT FLUENCY. If your child could use
additional practice at home, I will send you a separate email. This practice could take many forms—flashcards,
apps on phones/tablets, verbal quizzes or math games.
•REVISION INQUIRY: We would really love to have you come in
and share your experience about how you use mistakes in your life. More
info here
