Weekly Update
for the Week Ending
Friday, November 2
Dear
Room 15 Families,
Thank
you all for making Halloween such a great day at school. From helping your kid look awesome, to
planning (and running) a wonderful second grade celebration to cheering us all
on during the parade, we thank you!
•We have jumped into fairy house
planning and building. There is a
document that I shared with your child via Google Drive. In it, you will find a collection of
different types of structures we could use for the bases to our fairy houses. We settled on using flower pots of one sort
or another. There is a separate document
about to use these as building bases that I also shared via Google Drive. Remember that your child’s login information
is taped into the inside of his/her homework folder. You may want to copy that down so that you
have it available during the weekends.
I was able to gather a fair number
of pots via gracious residents through the NextDoor app (check out my haul in
the photo above). However, if you have any large-ish (8” –
12”) pots that you no longer want, we will give them a new life. Cracks and chips are no problem for us. In fact, we will be breaking them in the
building process, so please don’t buy any new pots. We have plenty to get us started. Some kids might just feel it’s all more
extra-special if it came from home.
These can come to our room as early as Monday.
Remember that dismissal for the next two weeks
is at 1:55 each day.
I have set up a new Sign Up Genius page for those
families that are willing and able to host Oreo for the weekend. We have a small travel cage and will, of
course, send with food. Some brief
directions/tips will be included in his suitcase that will join him on his
journey to your home. You can find that link here .
If you haven’t yet signed up for a
Family/Teacher conference, here is the link https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094BA4AF28A20-familyteacher
