Student
Treasures: Something new…
In Monday’s homework folder, you will find an
envelope attached to an order form. This
is from a company that I recently read about in a teaching blog. They create both hardcover and softcover
books of student work that can be purchased (or not) by parents. They do provide one free copy of a hardcover
book to the classroom, which is why I opted to try it out. The books will not be processed
without a returned order form from every student. Please do not feel any obligation to purchase
a book, but you DO need to complete the order form and return it to me in the
envelope as soon as possible in order for the company to process our
project. I need to mail all student
materials and order forms by Thursday at the latest. Please ask me if you have any questions after
you see the information that is included in Monday’s homework folder. Whether you choose to purchase a book or not, please return form in the
envelope as soon as you can.

Academy of Sciences: A Wonderful Day
I hope that you heard that we had a great day at
the Academy of Sciences. From the
rainforest exhibit, to a remarkable display of gleaming gems, to cute swimming
penguins, to petting a real live snake, to an amazing 3D movie students were
very busy exploring. Lunch was fun and
active as we ate outside by the fountain between the deYoung and the Academy. Your children were awesome. They were curious, courteous and a whole lot
of fun!
Makers’ Night
PTA is
sponsoring a Makers’ Night on May, 9th. Please be on the lookout for more information
about this from the PTA.
