Ellis Island Costume Ideas

We invite students to dress the part on Ellis Island Day.  This is a simulation of a historical event in American history and so we are all playing the part of an immigrant arriving to Ellis Island on a ship from Europe in 1907.  Below, please find ideas of how your child might have the most fun doing this.  It is hoped and intended that NOTHING new will be purchased for this use.  Rather, search closets, borrow from friends, siblings and neighbors and get creative!

Week Ending May 11

in room 15, we strive to be focused and relaxed Weekly Update for the Week Ending Friday, May 11 “Mindfulness Ambassadors” Beginning this week, we will invite two fourth grade students into our room at the start of each day to lead us in a very brief (<10mins) mindfulness exercise.   These students have been chosen by their teacher and have volunteered to share what they have learned about how being more mindful can lead to increased success both inside and outside of the classroom.   We are excited to learn from our fourth-grade peers.
