Weekly Update
for the Week Ending
Friday, April 19
Dear
Room 15 Families,
It
was great to see so many of you at last week’s Spring Sing.
We
have another busy week ahead!
TUESDAY
is our first COOKING CLASS. We are working with Kids Cooking for Life thanks to
a Kiddo! mini grant. Please click here
for the sign
up genius if you are able to help us out during our hour-long class.
THURSDAY
is the first of two INCLUSION
LUNCHES: We will host two Web
of Inclusion Lunches this spring, on Friday April 26, and Thursday, May 16.
They will be out on the playground, from 12:00-12:20, and will be
followed by recess play. Adults are definitely invited to play games with
students until the 12:40 bell. We are scheduling two lunches for two reasons:
If you cannot make one of the dates, perhaps you might be able to make the
other. And, everyone has the opportunity to make a connection with two
different groups of Edna people.
Please
see this LETTER
FROM LEO for details.
SUNDAY is our exciting GARDEN
FAIRE: Garden Faire is coming up, and we need your help! This year's Faire will be held on Sunday, April
28th, from 11 am to 3 pm, and raises money for the operation of our school
garden and funds our amazing garden educators: Cat and Kelly.
•REVISION INQUIRY: We would really love to have you come in
and share your experience about how you use mistakes in your life. More
info here

throughout the year.
|
Science/Social
Studies
|
•We
read about materials that change back to original form after heating or
cooling.
•We
tested our individual glue recipes and graphed our results.

Other
stuff
|
•We
met with our buddies.
•We
put up important signs in our fairy garden.
•We
welcomed Hajra back and congratulated her on her first grandchild—actually,
both her son and her daughter had their first child over spring break. Safiya and Ahmad were born within 36 hours
of each other!

CONGRATULATIONS
These
students showed PERSONAL IMPROVEMENT on the
Weekly Math Review
(made
up of mixed computation problems)
as
compared with the previous week.
We took an end of module test on Friday instead of a Math
Review. Normal Math Reviews will return
this Friday.
